Due to all the violence occurring in our world today, our small Bible study group decided to attend a defense class. Not just any defense class, but one for the ladies only. I learned of Foxy Defense through a dear friend. Her sister, Demetra Bradley, a licensed defense trainer and detective with the Ft. Worth PD teaches defense classes for young girls and ladies of all ages. So, I reached out to her and set up the registration process.

Wishful Words of a Mother

On this Mother’s Day, I reflected on the years spent with my two sons. Although grown now, Ryan and Branden said and did things when they were younger that still penetrate my heart today. As I thought of them, I chuckled, smiled, and even cried. I periodically remind them of two unfulfilled promises below. Valentine’s Day… a day when many look for bouquets of flowers-roses, violets, orchids, and lilies. A day to indulge in delectable chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, and little candy conversation hearts echoing sentiments such as “I love you, Be mine, You are Cute.” A day to receive jewelry, fancy dinners, teddy bears, Valentine’s gift boxes, and other tokens of affection or expressions of love from someone. A day when many simply desire the heart of a man or woman because they seek a love relationship.

New Year, Same God

As we enter into a new year, I rejoice. First of all, He allowed me entrance into 2023. He breathed air into my lungs, opened my eyes, and gave movement to my body. I take nothing for granted.

Second, as I reflect back on 2022, I recall some great, fun, and exciting memories. I also remember the difficult situations... trials, health challenges, and relationship struggles.

But then I realized that the same God whom I serve brought me through them all.
