Our Interior Designer
Renovating and updating a house to improve its appearance, functionality, and worth involves a lot of work and patience. A level of discomfort comes with the process. Most tend to buckle up and endure simply because of the anticipation of the outcome.
Sometimes the renovation process requires interior decorators or designers. The designers see flaws or areas of improvement that our eyes miss. They can see the potential of the house. So, the designers set their sights on transforming the present condition of the house into the image of a newly designed work.
They usually remove unnecessary, damaged or outmoded things. Sometimes, they remove or replace things that prove hard for us to relinquish. Some things we just desire to hold onto. But as uncomfortable and painful as the changes maybe, we often must surrender to the expertise of the interior decorators so as not to impede the renovation process. That is why we hire them, right… because they know more than we do in this area.
Well, sometimes we all need renovating and updating of ourselves. And just like renovating a house, a level of discomfort comes with the process. But most of us refuse to buckle up and endure it. We agree we probably need a little bit of “fixing up” in an area or two, but major renovation…. nah. This attitude causes us to lose sight of the potential outcome so we lack the anticipation of being made new.
This is why our renovations absolutely require an interior decorator. God, our interior designer, sees all our flaws and areas that need improvement. He knows the potential in each of us. So, He sets His sights on transforming our present selves into the image of His Son, Jesus.
God removes unnecessary, damaged or outmoded thoughts, habits, attitudes, actions, relationships, and anything else that needs surrendered to Him. Sometimes He removes things that are dear to us or things we tend to cling to instead of clinging to Him. But once we conform our will to His will, it changes us.
Uncomfortable…yes. Painful at times…. absolutely! But He delights in the beauty of His new design… a committed and obedient child of God!
I don’t know about you, but often I need God’s renovation in my life. I may not like the pain from His tools, but I must trust my interior designer to do what He needs to do. And when I submit to His molding, nothing is more splendid than His pleasure in remaking me into the daughter He desires.
Why? Simply …
