2025 Changes
“Nothing changes if nothing changes.” I received several comments on the impact of this phrase in my December Christmas blog. I felt the urge to open the New Year with this simple, but profound statement since a new year invites newness or changes.
Simply put, the “nothing” represents the change you or I need to make to experience a different outcome in 2025. It can deal with any area of your life… only you know the “nothing” in your life that needs changing. So, you decide…
If:
a change in your perspective (like me) needs to take place to change your attitude on something, someone, or some situation and you fail to do it, “nothing changes.”
the dynamics of your marriage remain the same resulting in a shattered union with dishonesty, lies, deceit, lack of communication or love, and you close a blind eye to the destructive behavior or allow it, “nothing changes.”
the relationship with your children continues to fall apart and nothing takes place to build it up or restore it, “nothing changes.”
certain toxic relationships exist in your life and you continue to allow them to poison your growth by not severing them, “nothing changes.”
the calling or purpose God gave you, yet year after year, you contemplate, think about it, but fail to take one step towards accomplishing it, “nothing changes.”
your walk with Jesus Christ weakens daily because you neglect reading His word and more importantly, obeying it, “nothing changes.”
I could go on and on, but you get the point. If “nothing changes… nothing changes.” As stated in the previous blog, if God didn’t disrupt the world with Jesus’s birth, we would still be destined for hell. But Jesus’ birth, subsequent death, burial, and resurrection changed our destiny from hell to Heaven, from death to life, from sorrow to joy. He saved us from our sins. “Something changed so something could change.”
So, the question posed to you and me… What change do I desire? What do I need to do to make that change? Then my brother and sister… Do it! “Change something in 2025 so something can change.”
Now if you do something to try to bring about a positive change and the situation, person, or circumstance remains the same, God knows the action you took. He will reward you for your efforts. And like me, He can change your attitude while going through it.
I don’t know about you, but I am glad God gave the greatest example of how a change can result in newness. The Holy Spirit revealed to me the change I need to make in my life that will give Him more glory. With His help, I know something will change. Why? Simply …
