The Cross Invokes a Choice
At the appointed time in history,
when all the claims of Christ could be fulfilled.
The sentence of excruciating death by crucifixion,
led Jesus to climb the torturous hill.
He lived a perfect life and knew no sin,
yet became sin for you and me.
He died to give us all a choice,
because of the choice He made on Calvary.
As darkness filled the earth that day,
God turned His back on His Son.
And when Jesus breathed His last breath for us,
His redemption work was done.
We will never know the real pain He endured, as we still ponder His death today,
Why the horror of the crucifixion, God? Surely there existed another way.
If Jesus chose to walk away,
and not go to the cross.
No resurrection, no choice to be made,
all of humanity would be lost.
But love would not allow Him,
to alter His Father’s plan.
No other human could have borne the pain,
but Jesus was no ordinary man.
Jesus, Christ, fully God and fully man, became the ultimate sacrifice for our sin,
He paid the price, His resurrection brought life, and redemption for all of men.
The cross invoked a choice…
The first choice seals your salvation,
where will you forever dwell?
When this earthly life is over,
will you spend eternity in heaven or hell?
Once you receive salvation,
you choose the Master you will serve every day.
To follow Satan, the world or your fleshly desires,
or choose to live Jesus’ way.
Choosing to follow the Savior,
to be a true disciple of Him.
The benefits are beautiful and plentiful,
as you access the heavenly realm.
But if you choose Satan, the world or your flesh, and allow them to dictate how you live,
Heavenly access will be denied, the consequences will be miserable and destructive.
The cross invokes a choice…
The problems nations face today,
stem from the body of Christ being lukewarm.
If we continue our spiritual departure from God,
we position ourselves for more harm.
We each have a choice in regards to God’s Word,
to disobey or to obey.
But when we as a nation start to change God’s laws,
His wrath He will display.
The culture may scream of everyone’s rights, but God rules no matter how loud the voice.
Each one must choose to do right or wrong,
The cross invokes a choice…
We claim abortion rights, but no one has the right,
to take a life from the womb.
For all life is precious and sacred to God,
from conception to the tomb.
God created male and female,
He instituted marriage with Adam and Eve.
He did not sanction male with male,
no Adam to live with Steve.
Nor did he sanction female with female,
the sin of homosexuality was not His plan.
For on the sixth day, He created man,
and then brought Adam a woman.
God alone dictates your gender,
your identity sealed at birth.
The anatomy that came with you into this world,
He created your sex and worth.
The culture may scream of everyone’s rights, but God rules no matter how loud the voice.
Each one must choose to do right or wrong,
The cross invokes a choice…
When God disturbs the natural order of things,
shaking up the physical, do not ignore.
He wants us to recognize our dependence on Him,
if we refuse, we will experience more.
If we continue to serve other idols,
and neglect the one true God, it’s clear.
The weather alert will be more plagues and terrors,
with impending storms drawing near.
Remember the Israelites with their fleshly desires,
refused to accept God as their king.
They desired their own human ruler,
not knowing the pain their decision would bring.
Against all wisdom and stern advise,
the people remained stubborn as a mule,
God granted their request, gave them a man named Saul,
who eventually became a fool.
Our God is a consuming fire,
destroying all idols to get our attention.
Pandemics, racial divides, mass shootings and confusion,
all represent His divine intervention.
The culture may scream of everyone’s rights, but God rules no matter how loud the voice.
Each one must choose to do right or wrong,
The cross invokes a choice…
Only God’s Word is truth, we must come to His terms,
this is the only resolution.
Since God caused or allowed the problems we face,
He is the only one with the solution!
And God is faithful to His Word,
He corrects then shows lovingkindness when we respond.
He will not reject His people forever,
but He will shake things up to help us move on.
Jesus will take second place to no one or no thing,
we must shift our priorities and repent.
Humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face,
if we do, He promised to relent.
The culture may scream of everyone’s rights, but God rules no matter how loud the voice.
Each one must choose to do right or wrong,
The cross invokes a choice…
So what will you do with the Resurrection,
each day as you hear His voice?
Do not harden your heart and reject Him or His Word,
The cross invokes a choice…
I don’t know about you, but I sealed my salvation a long time ago. In regards to my daily walk, I choose to be a true disciple of Jesus, so each day I ask the Holy Spirit to help me choose right no matter what the culture does. If I do, I will live a blessed life. Why? Simply…
He Lives! Have a Blessed Easter…
